BCSK was formed by two Shotokan karate-ka with the love of their art and wanting to share their knowledge and years of experience  with others. The club started off as a female only dojo in Jan 2016 as it is trying to increase the number of women that take up this fantastic martial art. This all changed in early 2017 when due to demand the dojo was then opened to all. In July 2018 the club move into Dudley Leisure Centre, Wellington Road and now in the New Duncan Edwards leisure centre. As founder members of the HDKI Black Country Shotokan are dedicated to promoting good honest Karate Due to Covid19 the dojo closed one of its sessions in the leisure centre and has now (as of March 2024) opened up a second session at the 7th Dudley Scout Hut we are hoping this will help us give back to the community.
